MUTATION SERIES BY MAARTEN DE CEULAER

Belgian designer Maarten De Ceulaer has designed a perfectly named line of seating entitled Mutation Series. The bubbly-looking pieces are meant to resemble a cellular mutation or even a nuclear reaction, a virus, or something that has grown abnormally freakish.
The project can also be seen as a new way to upholster classic pieces but in a sculptural way. Covered in a durable velvet-like finish, each piece is completely unique and nearly impossible to replicate. Read more [ via : design-milk ]

Three-Volume Residence Resting cube home

The residential structure named Anti Patio House is composed of three containers that capture the essence of modern living. These three volumes were designed to perfectly adapt to the property – a hillside terrain oriented towards the East, defined by “a 10-15 km panoramic view characteristic of a penthouse” – as described by the creative minds behind this project.
This contemporary home designed by Drozdov Partners is located in Kharkov, Ukraine, in a picturesque setting. A terraced property profile proved to be challenging, but the final result is a magnificent modern home made out of three 60 square meter containers each. The natural slope of the hillside allowed the architects to place two perpendicular containers on top of each other, while the third one sits separately and shelters the guest suite. The lower volume is occupied by the living spaces, while the upper one – resting on the slope – was risen to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. This is a small apartment designed as a concept by Anna Marinenko. As you can see, the apartment is bursting with color. It’s a very bright and refreshing apartment, despite its small dimensions.

SunShower SSIP House Built in NOLA

 In September 2010, I mentioned the winning design in a competition involving steel SIPs from OceanSafe.  The REOSE Sunshower SSIP model, designed by Tulane University professors of architecture,

Orange rooms design – fresh as a citrus

 Even I am not an orange fan, I am one of those people who painted their living room in orange. This is not a paradox at all. For interior designs orange is one of the greatest colors because you can combine it with different other colors and styles.
Even if you choose a pale hue or go with a flashy orange, the effect will be amazing. The more eccentric ones can choose to gather orange and other contrasting colors for a more intense effect. Orange is very nicely combined with its complementary color, blue, but you should be very careful how you make this combination. A good result depends on the nuances, proportions, position or forms. XV house by architecture firm RS+

The building is located near the old town of Cracow, in the calm district of detached houses, on the hill with beautiful view of Wawel and the mountains. The investor’s idea was that the house should be as high as possible because of the beautiful view, and preserve spatial relations between all floors with the largest as possible opening of the space.

The building stands on the highest point of the street – distinguished by Its cubic form and smooth white elevations, it is the dominant culmination of the surrounding architecture.
